WCI wins a further contract to support trust's plans for 'joined up' patient care

20 April 2006

WCI, renowned for excellence in integrating healthcare systems and processes, today announced that it has been successful in winning a new contract with South Manchester University Hospitals NHS Trust.  The project will take a phased approach, providing integration and interface tools for new and existing departmental systems.

WCI will deliver a robust and maintainable solution that will provide the Trust with flexibility for future development plans and a platform for process improvement leading to better patient services and care.

The contract includes the introduction of the SeeBeyond ICANN Suite 5 including an eGate integration engine with interfaces to the new LSP (Local Service Provider) chosen application and a number of existing departmental systems. WCI will assist the Trust in developing interfaces that meet local needs and conform to LSP specifications, providing building blocks for future development plans.

Richard Moulds, Programme Manager - Connecting for Health at South Manchester, said, "We selected WCI because of their expertise in health application integration, detailed knowledge of the National Programme, track record of successful implementations and value for money."

WCI's approach combines scalable, robust and safe technology solutions with a strong focus on process improvement.  This reduces administration and management overheads whilst improving the quality of services delivered to patients.

This recent contract further strengthens WCI's reputation for integration and simplification of diverse healthcare systems.
